What's Going on in Our Classroom...
    Reader's Workshop:
    • The students will work on a Google slide presentation with their book club members to present and share the book they read with their classmates.
      Writer's Workshop:
      • We will focus on different types of poetry and begin our poetry this week!
      • The students want to learn how to write in cursive so we will begin this week!  All the students know how to write their name in cursive and they have been practicing reading cursive.
          Math:
          • I have noticed that several students struggle with telling time on an analog clock.  We will be taking time this week to review telling time.  We will focus on "quarter till..", "quarter after..."  Practicing this at home would be a great way to reinforce this skill.
          • The students who have not mastered their multiplication facts will be working on QuickTables during morning arrival this week.
            Science:
            • The students will continue to learn about different specialized structures plants and animals have to survive in their environment.  They will begin a Mystery Science activity near the end of the week to learn about food chains.
            Social Studies:
            • The students will be learning the location of the 50 states over the next few weeks.  The states will be introduced to the students by region.
