Friday:  Please send in your child's encouragement notes by today!

What's Going on in Our Classroom...

    Reader's Workshop:
    • The students will finish their book club books this week.  They will complete a Google slideshow book report with their groups to share with the class.
    • The students will take time this week to practice using the online MAP tools that will be provided as they complete their MAP test.  This will help prepare them for MAP testing next week!
      Writer's Workshop:
      • To kick-off our Poetry Unit, the students will study several different poems during writing this week.  They will also write an informational essay using a writing prompt.  This is helping them learn to organize their time as they plan, draft and edit/revise their writing in one sitting.
          Math:
          • The students will continue with geometry as they measure and draw angles using a protractor, learn about the different types of triangles and study characteristics of quadrilaterals.
            Science:
            • We will begin our Nature Unleashed Unit this week!  The students will spend a lot of time outside during this unit, so I am hoping the weather will cooperate.  If your child can bring in an old bath towel or beach towel to use to sit on during observations and lessons, that would be wonderful!
