What's Happening in Room 34...

Things You Should Know...

  • If your child has not returned his/her field trip permission slips, please do so as soon as possible.  We have three fun and FREE field trips planned for the remaining school year.
  • The students will begin MAP testing tomorrow.  Please check out the Parent Tips and Dates to further explain MAP testing and helpful tips for your child at home.
  • The students have until May 14th to complete their 4th-grade ALEKS pie to participate in our class pizza lunch!

Wednesday:  MAP testing in the morning (ELA)
Thursday:  MAP testing in the morning (ELA)

What's Going on in Our Classroom...

    Reader's Workshop:
    • The students will work on a Google slide presentation with their book club members to present and share the book they read with their classmates.
      Writer's Workshop:
      • We will focus on different types of poetry and begin our poetry unit after MAP testing.
          Math:
          • The students will be working with metric measurement this week and spending time reviewing 4th-grade skills.
          • The students who have not mastered their multiplication facts will be working on QuickTables during morning arrival this week.
            Science:
            • We will begin our Nature Unleashed Unit this week!  The students will spend a lot of time outside during this unit, so I am hoping the weather will cooperate.  If your child can bring in an old bath towel or beach towel to use to sit on during observations and lessons, that would be wonderful!
