Important Announcements:
- The students have selected a topic for their latest writing piece, Informational Writing! We will continue researching and taking notes this week in class. They are encouraged to visit the county library to check out books on their topic and/or print off material at home to use while researching and note-taking this week and next. The students can use the blog to find "Kid Friendly Search Engines for Research" located as a top tab as they search for articles at home.
- Mrs. Jardon, a retired Lindbergh teacher, will present to the students this Friday and every day next week. She will be taking the students through the Lewis and Clark Expedition with many fun, hands-on activities.

What's Happening in Our Room....
Reading Workshop:
- The students will continue to read their book club book this week and meet for a book club discussion.
- The students will be leading their book clubs and deciding on reading assignments and tasks that need to be completed during the week. Your child may have assigned pages to read in the evening which will be counted towards their daily reading.
Writing Workshop:
- The students are encouraged to bring in devices to research their chosen topic for our latest writing piece, Informational Writing. If your child does not have a device to bring in, we have classroom computers available.
- The students will have a test over 12 of our vocabulary words. They have been working with them in class and should review and prepare at home for the test.
Math:
- Please continue to encourage your child to practice facts using flashcards, online games or Quicktables on ALEKS.
- We will continue to work with patterns and input/output tables. The students will be tested over chapter 7 on Friday.
Science:
- We will continue to learn about electricity this week as the student write a conclusion to the investigation we conducted last week. The students will also have fun racing cans using static electricity this week.
Social Studies:
- Mrs. Jardon will begin the Lewis and Clark presentation later this week.
