Things To Know...
- We will ease back into the week with several new units this week! I can't believe we are in our last quarter for the year!
- The students will be responsible for completing at least 3 topics on ALEKS this week at home! If your child does not have access to a computer at home or is on a Knowledge Check, he/she will need to let me know so I can make sure they have class time to complete it. My goal is for each student to complete their 4th-grade ALEKS pie. We are off to a good start with 9 already meeting the goal!

Reader's Workshop:
- We will continue to tie reading and social studies together as we learn about the American Revolution. This week, we will focus on the events that led to the Revolutionary War. The students will participate in a fun activity to experience what it felt like to be taxed as a colonist.
Writer's Workshop:
- The students will write a persuasive essay this week after reading 2 different viewpoints on students learning to play musical instruments. After reading the articles, the students will side with a viewpoint and write a persuasive essay using evidence from the article to support their opinion.
Math:
- We will begin the customary measurement unit this week. The students will practice measuring with a ruler and understand and convert the units of length, capacity, and weight.
Science:
- We will begin our Mixtures and Solutions Unit this week as the students learn about the properties of matter and conduct a fun investigation on density!
