What's Happening in Our Room....
Reading Workshop:

  • Last week, we spent time talking about ways to discuss a book.  The students learned and practiced being an active listener while discussing a book with their peers.  This week, the students will begin a Book Club and be assigned a book to read together.  Reading will be the only homework assigned during MAP testing.

Writer's Workshop:
  • The students will finish up their poems this week, revise and edit before publishing for our class poetry anthology.  Each child will be given a class book of poems to keep!
Math:
  • We will spend time reviewing math concepts this week while working with our math partners, playing games and working independently to help us prepare for MAP testing.  The students will also work in math stations this week and have classroom opportunity to work on completing 4th grade ALEKS.  We currently have 8 students participating in the Pizza Party for completing ALEKS!  Your child has until May 12th!!
Science
  • The students have enjoyed spending time outside as they study and observe nature in our school ecosystem.  We will end our unit with a field trip to GEMPP Missouri Conservation Area on May 17th.
