Reader's Workshop:
- The students will participate in a nonfiction book club this week. The groups will choose between 2 different books to read and discuss each day this week. Ask your child about their chosen book and see what new things they are learning this week!
Writer's Workshop:
- The students are finishing up their research and writing this week as they begin to decide what text features to include in their presentation.
- The students will also be working with a mentor sentence this week. Our sentence includes "dad" as a proper noun, the correct use of I and me, and show not tell.
Math:
- The students will be introduced to decimals this week as we begin our next unit. They will learn to read decimals through hundredths, make the connection of money and decimals and understand the relationship between fractions and decimals.
Science:
- The students will complete their 2nd investigation this week using the Scientific Method.
- They will also be tested over the terms and the understanding of the Scientific Method on Thursday. The students will be given a review on Monday, create study cards during morning work and have time to study with a partner throughout the week. They should also study at home using their cards, review sheet and science notes.
