Reader's Workshop:
- The students will be given a selection of books to choose from for their next book club. This book club will be focusing on point of view and each of the books is told from an animal's point of view.
Writer's Workshop:
- We will begin to study and critique several 4th-grade writing samples to help prepare the students to write from a specific writing prompt.
- The students will be given a list of vocabulary on Monday. The words come from our Word Wall, and the students have worked with the words throughout the school year. They will be responsible for spelling, defining and using the words in a sentence on the test next Friday, April 6th.
Math:
- The students will continue to work with customary measurement. They will measure to the nearest 1/4 inch, learn about weight, length and capacity measurement. We will begin to study area and perimeter near the end of the week.
- The students will be assigned to complete at least 3 ALEKS topics at home this week. They will be given a form on Monday to record as they complete each topic.
Social Studies:
- We will continue to learn the Revolutionary War and study the roles of women, African Americans and American Indians in the war.

Things You Should Know....
- If you signed up for Parent-Teacher conferences, I look forward to talking with you during our scheduled time on Thursday.
- If you were not able to make our Writing Celebration last week, please ask your child to share his/her informational writing piece that can be found on google drive. They are awesome!
- The students are doing a wonderful job working on ALEKS at home! We have 10 students who have completed their 4th-grade pie!! My goal is to have EVERY student complete his/her pie by MAP testing at the end of April. Your child has been introduced to a lot of the topics on ALEKS and should have plenty to work on. Spending 15 - 30 minutes on ALEKS in the evening is a great way to review and strengthen your child's math skills.
